  • How do I place an order?

Just contact us with the model you want.

We’ll email you a tax invoice, and once payment is received, your shelter will be dispatched within 3–5 business days.

  • How do I know which Container Shelter is right for my needs?

It depends on what you’re using the space for and how much room you have on site.

As a guide, a TS612 model 6m × 12m shelter gives you 72m² of covered space — enough to fit around 8 average-sized cars comfortably.

  • Do I need council approval before installing?

Council approval requirements vary depending on the council, site location, and intended use.

Container dome shelters are often considered temporary or relocatable structures, meaning council approval may not always be required. Regulations can vary between councils, so we recommend checking with your local council for confirmation.

All Toughcover shelters are engineered to AS/NZS 1170.2 wind standards, and supporting engineering documents can be provided if required.

  • Do the Container Shelter kits include everything required for installation?

Yes. Each kit includes all components: base plates, arches, roof purlins, bracing, tension tubes, ropes, fasteners, straps and ratchets. Beyond that we also include two FREE spanners to make the installation even easier — and you can keep them for future use! All you need is a suitable EWP (e.g. scissor lift), depending on the model size.

  • Are the shelters wind-rated?

Yes! Our shelters are engineered to meet AS/NZS 1170.2, designed for Importance Level 1 structures in Wind Region A.

  • Is any welding required?

No welding at all! Our Lock-Clamp System uses bolt-on components, clamps and fittings to secure the base to your containers. Your containers remain undamaged — no welding, cutting or drilling. The shelter can also be taken down and re-installed at a new site when needed.

  • Is the steel structure and PVC cover covered by warranty?

Yes — both the steel frame and the PVC cover come with a 10-Year Warranty.

Full details are available at: toughcover.com.au/warranty-information.

  • Does your warranty cover wind damage?

Unlike some competitors who claim "Wind Rated" but exclude wind damage in their fine print, ToughCover stands behind our ratings. If you install our shelter according to our manual (using the Lock-Clamp system) in the correct Wind Region (e.g., Region A/B), and it fails due to wind within that rating, we will assess it for warranty replacement. We don't hide behind "Act of God" clauses for normal weather events.

  • What sizes are available?

Since shelters mount on 20ft (6m) or 40ft (12m) containers, our sizes are listed by width:

    6m, 8m, 10m and 12m wide.

End walls are suitable for both GP containers (2.6m) and HC containers (2.9m).

Please contact us for current stock availability.

  • I’ve never built a Container Shelter before, do I need special equipment?

We recommend using equipment such as scissor lift, mini crane, etc. Installation involves working at heights, so appropriate EWPs (Elevated Work Platforms) and safe operation are essential.

  • What materials are used in the shelter?

    ·  Cover: 3-ply heavy-duty commercial PVC (610 grams per square meter), UV-resistant, fire-retardant and 100% waterproof.

    ·  Frame: Hot-dip galvanised steel tubes for strength, corrosion protection and long-term durability.
