Product Introduction

"Don't put your valuable assets under a 'budget' dome that wasn't built to survive."

1. Why the TS1012 is Built Different (and why it costs more)

When you bridge a massive 10-meter span across the full length of a 40ft container, the physics of wind leverage and structural stress change significantly. While competitors use standard 76mm x 1.8mm arches and 48mm purlins to save on costs, we refuse to compromise on your safety.

Weight Equals Structural Integrity: The TS1012 is a heavy-duty beast weighing in at a solid 1,150kg. Most "budget" alternatives only weigh 850-950kg. Ever wonder where that missing 250kg went? It’s the high-tensile steel that should have been there to protect your assets! In the Australian industrial sector, weight is the ultimate proof of quality.

 The Toughcover Standard: We engineer the TS1012 with 76mm x 2.5mm heavy-wall high-tensile steel.

+35% Strength Advantage: Our 2.5mm thick-wall steel provides 35% more structural rigidity than the common 1.8mm alternative used by others.

Upgraded Purlins: While others use 48mm pipes, we use 60mm x 1.5mm roof purlins to ensure this massive 120sqm roof remains rock-solid in all conditions.

Upgraded Hardware: Grade 8.8 High-Tensile Bolts (Don't settle for the industry-standard 4.8 Grade).

Complete Your TS1012 Setup

The TS1012 is supplied open-ended as standard. Add end walls or doors to fully enclose your shelter:

● Half End Wall — Top half enclosed, bottom half open for forklift and ground-level access

● Door Or Full End Wall — Drive-through access for vehicles and machinery, Or Fully enclosed panel.

Available Colours

● White — In stock (best for heat reflection and UV resistance)

● Silver Grey — Available by pre-order

● Olive Green — Available by pre-order

White is stocked as standard due to its superior performance in Australian conditions.

3. Engineering Excellence for Australian Sites

A 10-meter width creates significant leverage under wind pressure. Standard 1.5mm or 1.8mm pipes simply cannot offer the necessary rigidity for this size.

AS/NZS 1170.2 Certified: Fully verified to Australian wind standards for total peace of mind.

 610gsm UV-Rated PVC: Providing 120sqm of heavy-duty, fire-retardant, and 100% waterproof protection.

10-Year Structural Warranty: We stand behind our 2.5mm steel because it is built to outlast the competition.

4. The "Hidden Cost" of Budget Shelters

Buying a cheaper 40ft shelter with thin 1.8mm steel isn't a saving—it's a gamble. If a standard pipe fails during a storm, you lose 120sqm of coverage and risk everything stored beneath it. The TS1012 is an investment in uninterrupted productivity and absolute safety. Want the full engineering breakdown? Read: 76x2.5mm vs 1.8mm Steel — What the Numbers Actually Mean →

5. Logistics & Installation

Forklift Recommended: Due to the 1150kg weight and industrial 265cm crate length, we strongly recommend a minimum 2.5-tonne capacity forklift on-site for unloading.

● No Forklift? If you lack unloading equipment, please notify us before dispatch. We can coordinate specialized unloading gear to ground the crate for you.

Warehouse Pickup: Customers may choose self-collection from our Melbourne warehouse. Please ensure your vehicle or trailer is capable of handling a 1150kg load and a 265cm package length. We provide Free forklift loading for all collections.

DIY or Professional: This is a DIY-friendly kit supplied with free spanner kits, easy peasy installation. Professional installation services are available as an optional extra within Victoria.

6. FAQs

Q: What size is the Toughcover TS1012 container shelter?  A: The TS1012 is 10 metres wide, 12 metres long, and 3.5 metres high, covering a total floor area of 120m². It is designed to span a single 40ft shipping container (both GP and High Cube) with the full 12-metre length running along the container.

Q: Does the TS1012 fit 40ft High Cube containers?  A: Yes. The TS1012 is fully compatible with both standard 40ft General Purpose (GP) and 40ft High Cube (HC) containers.

Q: What steel is used in the TS1012?  A: The TS1012 uses 76mm OD x 2.5mm wall thickness hot-dip galvanised high-tensile steel for all main arches. This is significantly heavier than the 76 x 1.8mm or 2.0mm tube used by most budget suppliers — and it shows in the total kit weight of 1,150kg, compared to 850–950kg for comparable models on the market.

Q: Why does the TS1012 weigh 1,150kg when other 40ft shelters weigh 850–950kg?  A: The difference is in the steel wall thickness. Our 76 x 2.5mm tube carries substantially more steel per metre than the 1.8mm alternatives most competitors use. Across seven full arches on a 10-metre wide, 12-metre long structure, that adds up to hundreds of kilograms of additional steel — steel that's there working for you every time the wind picks up.

Q: Is the TS1012 certified to Australian wind standards?  A: Yes. The TS1012 is certified to AS/NZS 1170.2:2021, the Australian and New Zealand standard for wind actions on structures. It is engineered for Wind Region A conditions, covering the majority of populated areas in Australia including Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, and South Australia.

Q: Why does the TS1012 use 7 arch sets instead of fewer?  A: Seven arches at 2.0-metre centres across a 12-metre length ensures consistent load distribution along the full span of a 40ft container. Fewer arches would increase the unsupported distance between connection points, reducing overall frame rigidity under wind load.

Q: Is the 610gsm PVC cover fire-retardant?  A: Yes. Every TS1012 ships with a single-piece heavy-duty 610 g/m² UV-treated PVC cover that is fire-retardant and 100% waterproof, providing seamless protection across the full 120m².

Q: How long does it take to assemble the TS1012?  A: The TS1012 uses the same no-weld Lock-Clamp system as the rest of the Toughcover range — everything connects with standard spanners, and two free spanner kits are included. Most installations are completed in 2 days with 5-6 people. No welding equipment or trade licence is required.

Q: Is professional installation available for the TS1012 in Victoria?  A: Yes. Professional on-site installation is available as an optional extra for customers in Victoria. Contact us with your site location and model details for a full quote including installation.

Q: What forklift capacity is needed to unload the TS1012?  A: A minimum 2.5-tonne capacity forklift is strongly recommended. The package ships at 1,150kg in a 265 x 110 x 84cm steel-reinforced crate with integrated fork pockets. If you don't have a forklift on site, let us know before dispatch and we can coordinate alternatives.
