Product Introduction

"Don't put your valuable assets under a 'budget' dome that wasn't built to survive."

Why the TS1212(4m) Is Built for the Jobs Others Can't Cover

A 12-metre wide container dome shelter isn't hard to find. What is hard to find is one built with 76 x 2.5mm heavy-wall steel and 1.5-metre arch spacing — instead of the 1.8-2.0mm tubing and 2.0-metre spacing common in the market.

The TS1212(4m) gives you 144m² of column-free covered workspace across two 40ft containers, with a 4-metre peak height that clears larger machinery and tall-sided vehicles that a standard 3-metre dome simply won't fit.

Heavier steel. Tighter arch spacing. Seven longitudinal purlins for a stiffer, more rigid roof. And the same 10-year structural warranty backing it up.

What Makes the TS1212(4m) Different

✔ 1,460kg — The Weight That Tells the Story  Our TS1212(4m) ships at 1,460kg. Comparable 40ft domes at this width come in at around 1,300kg. That missing 160kg isn't packaging — it's the steel that should have been there protecting your assets.

✔ 76 x 2.5mm Heavy-Wall Steel Throughout  9 of arch sets, every one of them 76mm OD x 2.5mm wall thickness, hot-dip galvanised. At 12 metres wide and 4 metres tall across a 12-metre length, this is a serious structure — and we build it with serious steel. Common in the market: 1.8mm or 2.0mm.

✔ 9 Arch Sets at 1.5m Centres  9 arches at tight 1.5-metre spacing across the full 12-metre length. Better load distribution, less flex in the roof, stronger frame overall. Common in the market: 2.0 meters.

✔ 7 Longitudinal Purlins — Built for the Taller Profile  A 4-metre arch profile presents more surface area to wind load than a 3-metre dome. We address this with 7 groups of 60 x 1.5mm purlins — more longitudinal connection points across the full span, a stiffer roof structure, and better cover tension under load.

✔ Universal Base Rail + Lock-Clamps  Bolt-on, no-weld mounting to your 40ft containers. No drilling, no permanent modification. The shelter goes on clean and comes off clean. Total portable and relocatable!

✔ Grade 8.8 High-Tensile Bolts  Every bolt is Grade 8.8 — double the tensile strength of the Grade 4.8 standard common in the market. Here's why that matters.

✔ 610gsm UV-Rated PVC Cover  Heavy-duty, fire-retardant, 100% waterproof. Tensioned and secured with 40 x 1.2mm cover clamp tubes along the full length.

Complete Your TS1212(4m) Setup

The TS1212(4m) is supplied open-ended as standard. Add end walls or doors to fully enclose your shelter:

Half Panel End Wall — Top half enclosed, bottom half open for forklift and ground-level access

Full End Wall Or Door End Wall — Solid fully enclosed end, Or Winch Door end wall for Drive-through access

Who Needs the 4m Version

The 3m dome covers most general storage. If you're asking about the 4m version, you probably already know why — something on your site won't fit under a standard 3m roof.

Here's where the TS1212(4m) earns its keep:

Trucks & Tipper Vehicles  Most tippers, rigid trucks, and cab-overs sit between 3.5m and 4m at the roofline. The 4m peak gives you the clearance to drive in, work underneath, and walk around without ducking.

Caravans & Motorhomes  Full-size motorhomes and fifth-wheelers regularly push past 3.5m. The 4m dome is the clean solution for long-term undercover storage without cramming — and at 144m², you've got room for more than one.

Agricultural Machinery  Headers, self-propelled sprayers, and large tractors with cabs are tall. Keep your most expensive gear out of the weather year-round without squeezing under a low roof.

Heavy Equipment  Excavators, telehandlers, and elevated work platforms need room — not just for the machine, but for safe access during maintenance. The extra metre makes the difference between a proper workshop setup and a compromise.

Workshop & Maintenance Space  When you're working under a truck or standing on top of a machine, 3m disappears fast. At 144m², the TS1212(4m) gives you a full-scale workshop that actually works.

12 Metres Wide, 4 Metres Tall — Why the Steel Spec Matters

A 12-metre wide, 4-metre tall dome across a 12-metre length is a significant structure. The longer and taller the arch, the greater the bending moment at every connection point under wind load — and the more the frame has to work to stay rigid.

The 1.8-2.0mm tube common in the market looks identical from outside — same 76mm outer diameter — but the wall is thinner, the section modulus is lower, and the resistance to bending drops significantly.

We don't stop at the steel spec. Our 9 arch sets are spaced at 1.5-metre centres — tighter than the 2.0-metre spacing common at this width. More arches across the same span means better load distribution, less unsupported distance between connection points, and a roof that stays stiff rather than flexing under gusting conditions.

At 12 metres wide and 4 metres tall, there's no margin to cut corners. The steel and the spacing both need to be right.

The Real Cost of Going Cheaper on a 144m² Dome

A cheaper 12-metre 40ft dome might save you $500–$1,000 upfront. But a 144m² structure carrying wind load with undersized steel is a liability — not an asset.

If it fails during a storm, you're not just replacing a shelter. You're looking at damaged vehicles, equipment write-offs, interrupted operations, and a site safety incident that could have been avoided.

The TS1212(4m) costs more than the alternatives. It also weighs 160kg more. That's not a coincidence.

FAQs

Q: What is the difference between the TS1212(3m) and the TS1212(4m)?  A: Both are 12 metres wide and 12 metres long, use the same 76 x 2.5mm steel, 1.5m arch spacing, and 9 arch sets. The key differences are peak height (3.0m vs 4.0m) and the number of longitudinal purlins (5 groups vs 7 groups). The 4m version suits trucks, caravans, tall machinery, and heavy equipment that won't clear a standard 3m dome.

Q: Why choose the TS1212(4m) instead of the standard 3m version?  A: The 3m version suits most general storage needs. The 4m version is for sites where height is the limiting factor — trucks, tippers, caravans, motorhomes, agricultural headers, telehandlers, and excavators that simply won't clear a 3-metre opening. Same 12-metre width, same steel spec, same footprint — just a full metre more clearance at the peak.

Q: Why does the TS1212(4m) use 7 roof purlins instead of 5?  A: A taller arch profile catches more wind load across a larger surface area. The two additional purlins — 7 groups of 60 x 1.5mm versus 5 on the 3m version — add more longitudinal connection points across the full span, improving load distribution, keeping the frame stiffer under gusting conditions, and maintaining proper PVC cover tension.

Q: Why does the TS1212(4m) weigh 1,460kg when similar shelters come in at around 1,300kg?  A: The difference is in the steel. Our 76 x 2.5mm tube carries substantially more steel per metre than the 1.8mm alternatives common in the market. Across nine full arches on a 12-metre wide, 4-metre tall, 12-metre long structure — plus two extra purlins — that adds up to 160kg of additional steel actively working to protect your assets.

Q: Does the TS1212(4m) fit 40ft High Cube containers?  A: Yes. The TS1212(4m) is compatible with both standard 40ft GP and High Cube containers.

Q: Is the 610gsm PVC cover fire-retardant?  A: Yes. Every TS1212(4m) ships with a heavy-duty 610 g/m² UV-treated white PVC cover that is fire-retardant and 100% waterproof.

Q: Are end walls available for the TS1212(4m)?  A: The TS1212(4m) ships open-ended. End walls and roller doors are available as optional extras — see our End Walls & Doors range.

Q: What forklift capacity is needed to unload the TS1212(4m)?  A: A minimum 2.5-tonne capacity forklift is required. The package ships at 1,460kg in a 265 x 110 x 125cm steel crate with integrated fork pockets.

Q: Is professional installation available for the TS1212(4m) in Victoria?  A: Yes. Professional on-site installation is available as an optional extra within Victoria. Contact us with your site location for a full delivered and installed price.
